Under 15s 4-3 Ware Youth Blues

The Under 15's got back to winning ways with this victory over Ware in a match played in very blustery conditions.

Bengeo were quickly into their stride, and after only 3 minutes, Tom Deemer burst down the left and cut back a lovely pass for Charlie Edwards whose shot was just over the bar. 4 minutes later, Jake Buzzing saw an effort saved by the keeper. In the 11th minute, Ware mounted their first real attack which was thwarted by a good tackle by Nick Sheffield and the danger was cleared by Neal Rowe and Charlie Edwards.

Tigers took the lead in the 16th minute, when Georgie Hunt drove down the left and cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the far corner. 4 minutes later, the same player was unlucky not to double his tally when after another good run his shot went across the face of the goal. 2 minutes later however, he did have the ball in the net again, but the linesman's flag denied him. In the 26th minute, Ware broke away down the right and a final shot screamed past Jack Edwards, and fortunately past the far post too, but the equaliser did come on the half hour, with a shot from distance following a throw in. Parity only lasted four minutes though, when after a good move involving Nat Turner and Georgie Hunt, the former saw his effort saved, but Craig Lewis was on hand to rifle home into the bottom corner. 2 minutes later, the Georgie Hunt/Nat Turner combination almost did it again, but this effort went wide.

Bengeo were looking to extend the lead, and James Roberts linked up with Nat Turner who saw another shot saved, which was quickly followed by Georgie Hunt firing over, and a Tom Deemer free-kick being pushed away by the visting keeper.

Bengeo did not start the second half as brightly, and it was some 15 minutes before they threatened the Ware goal again, when Dan Skyte crossed and Nat Turner produced a spectacular overhead shot which was saved. In the 57th minute Ware equalised, when a corner was cleared only to the corner of the penalty box, and a shot found the far corner. 5 minutes later, Craig Lewis fed Georgie Hunt, but the keeper was equal to his latest effort, and in the 68th minute, Jack Edwards produced a good save down low to prevent the visitors from taking the lead. However, 4 minutes later Bengeo went back infront, when a great ball by Charlie Edwards found Georgie Hunt in space, and he finished with aplomb.

Two minutes later, Bengeo increased their lead, when a free-kick found Neal Rowe in the six yard box, who turned and flicked the ball into the far corner. Shortly afterwards, Ware won an indirect free-kick, which found the back of the net, but fortunately with no one geting a touch on the ball, was subsequently disallowed. There was still time though for the visitors to pull another goal back, with almost the last kick of the game.

Manager Dave Edwards thought the team played very well in the first half, but seemed to fall asleep in the second and made hard work of getting the victory.
