Back to the reality of league football, following last weeks exciting cup exploits, the Tigers were pitched against one of this seasons form sides.
The early exchanges were very tight with neither giving much away, and if anything, Bengeo getting on top. An outstanding shot from Aston hit the bar in the early stages, and St Johns were clearly rattled. As the half wore on, and as expected, St Johns began to come more into the game, and eventually took the lead close to half time, which arrived with the score 1 - 0 to the opposition.
The second half could not have started worse, as St Johns went 2 - 0 up early on. Despite the scoreline, the game was much closer than this, with St Johns seeming to have a large slice of luck on their side being what separated the sides.
Bengeo continued to battle, and were rewarded with 10 minutes left with a great goal from Connor. It was then backs to the wall for St Johns as Bengeo went in search of the equaliser, but alas, it never came, and the game ended 2 - 1 to the visitors.
An encouraging display against one of the divisions top teams, and with some luck, and the benefit of a few decisions that could have gone their way, could have stolen all three points, let alone a draw.
