As temperatures soared on Sunday Bengeo Tigers U16s turned up the heat on Cheshunt to secure there first league victory of the season in the Mid Herts Premier League.

The game started ominously as Cheshunt enjoyed the early exchanges, taking an early lead after just 4 minutes following a cruel deflection. However, as the half progressed Bengeo gradually began to dominate as their midfield controlled the game. On the few occasions when Cheshunt reached the final third, Jack Edwards in the Bengeo goal was more than up to the task, putting in another commanding performance. On the half hour Louis Francis drilled in a shot from the right leaving the Cheshunt goalkeeper stranded for a deserved equaliser.

The second half saw Bengeos dominance continue as manager Dave Edwards rotated his team. As the game reached the final quarter Ben Holmes scored with a thunderbolt that will be a strong contender for goal of the season. The ball was hit from a full 35 yards out and hit the top corner of the net before Cheshunts custodian had a chance to move. In the final 10 minutes both sides had chances, but Bengeo ran out deserved winners.
