Firstly welcome to the new season and Bengeo Tigers U9s first game in The Mid Herts Rural Friendly League.
The squad for the first game was:-
Oliver Salmon, Arran Jain, Ryan Maynard, Louie Benjamin, Joe Ladbury, George Gosling, Dalton Hinckley-Keens, Hugh Cavener, Elias Thrussell and Tom Abbott
The match started well with our boys playing some great one touch football, Bengeo went ahead after Arran Jain scored our first goal of the season just inside the penalty area. Elias Thrussell then scored Bengeo’s second just before half time after some impressive work by Louie Benjiman through the Bury Rangers midfield. Brave goal keeping and well organised defence meant that we went in at half time 0–2 up.
The second half started and slightly against the run of play Bury scored to make it 1-2. Bengeo then dug deep and showed determination to win the ball which broke to Hugh Cavener who hit a great left foot shot from just inside the Bury half which the keeper just couldn’t handle. Joe Ladbury made a great break down the left wing and crossed the ball into the box forcing the Bury keeper to fumble into his own net after pressure from George Gosling to make it Bury 1 Bengeo 4. As the game drew towards a close Louie made a great run through the bury midfield only for his shot to be saved by the Bury keeper, he then hit the post with the final effort of the game.
Full Time Bury Rangers 1 Bengeo Tigers 4
An excellent first match by all of the boys. They worked hard and showed some excellent touches and determination to win the ball.
Man of the Match = Louie Benjiman
