Cheshunt Youth 6-8 Under 9 Siberians

Today we ventured South for our second visit of the season to Cheshunt Youth on a bitterly cold and windy day.

Our squad was depleted today due to illness and we played both games without any substitutes. Credit to all the players who battled through two tough encounters despite a few of them picking up knocks.

We won the first game 7-2, thanks to four goals from William Orton and goals from Ethan Jocelyn, Keaton Weeks and Sam Belshaw. Man of the match was awarded to William Orton who seemed to be everywhere on the field today. This was a really good team effort and despite the strong wind some lovely football was played.

The second game was much more of a battle. We trailed 1-0 down at half time. We pulled the game back to 2-1 in the second half but eventually were overcome 4-1. The kids did really well, particularly in the second half and we both felt that the score did not reflect the performance. Man of the match was awarded to Harry Malady-Rashford, a good all-round performance mixed with a dozen or so magnificent tackles.
