Potters Bar Crusaders 3-1 Under 9 Siberians

Our 11 game unbeaten run in the league came to an end today, however we both agreed that today’s performance had the winning feel about it. With players missing, we had anticipated a difficult day out and Potters Bar Crusaders proved to be a good footballing side.

The boys and girls did us proud though. Without the benefit of subs and a few playing in new positions, they demonstrated real determination and spirit. We had practised defencive drills in the week and all four full backs, Alphie Marshall, Harry Malady-Rashford, Lewis Thomas and Luke McCurry absolutely excelled today. We maintained a clean-sheet for three quarters of the game and in the first 50 minutes Potters Bar didn’t manage a shot on goal. All four goals came in a 15 minute period and our goal was converted by Sam Belshaw from a Lewis Matthews corner.

We awarded man of the match to Harry Malady-Rashford and Alphie Marshall.

There was some very good football played by this young Bengeo side today and both coaches went home with smiles on their faces.
