The Daily Mirror’s Pride of Sport Awards recognised Bengeo Tigers club official, Peter Malady with the Local Hero award last week at a ceremony in central London.

Peter won the award after turning Bengeo Tigers football club, a club with the worst disciplinary record in their league, into the best-behaved club on and off the pitch in the county.

The Daily Mirror's 'Pride of Sport Awards' was attended by a number of sporting heroes including then England manager, Roy Hodgson, and former Arsenal and England keeper, David Seaman.

Peter picked up the Local Hero award on the night, an award that aimed to recognise an individual that has worked tirelessly to make an impact on sport in their local community.  The award was for those that have made an impact but seek no praise or recognition.

The night marked an incredible 12 months of achievement for both Peter and Bengeo Tigers Community football Club.
